Terms of Service

Anchor Smart Journal · Last updated 9 September 2026

These terms govern your use of Anchor Smart Journal (the iOS app, the web app at app.anchorsmartjournal.com, and this website). By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, write to us before you subscribe: support@anchorsmartjournal.com.

What Anchor is

Anchor is a personal focus journal: a place to plan your day, write, protect time for focused work, and review your weeks. It is a tool for your own reflection and planning. It is not medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for professional help.

Your account

You need an account to keep your record. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure and for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Anchor. You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app, which removes your account and associated content.

Anchor Pro subscriptions

Plans

Anchor Pro is offered as a yearly plan ($39.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial) and a monthly plan ($5.99 per month). Prices are shown in USD; local taxes may apply and are shown at checkout.

Free trial

The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. If you do nothing, the subscription starts automatically when the trial ends.

Renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Cancel at any time; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again. Web purchases are managed from your receipt email or by writing to support. App Store purchases are managed in your Apple ID subscription settings.

Who bills you

Purchases made on this website are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our merchant of record. Paddle is the seller of record for those orders and handles payment, receipts, and sales tax; their buyer terms also apply. Purchases made inside the iOS app go through Apple and are governed by Apple's terms.

Refunds

For purchases made on this website: if Anchor Pro is not working for you, email support@anchorsmartjournal.com within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it in full. Refunds are issued through Paddle back to your original payment method. For purchases made through the App Store, refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy.

Your content

Everything you write in Anchor is yours. We claim no ownership of your journal entries, tasks, or plans. You give us only the limited permission needed to store and display your content back to you as part of running the service. Your content is private to your account; see the Privacy Policy for the details of how it is handled.

Acceptable use

Service changes and availability

We work to keep Anchor available and improving, but the service is provided "as is" and we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we ever discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice so you can export what matters to you, and unused paid time will be refunded.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Termination

You can stop using Anchor and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms; where the breach is fixable we will warn you first.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
